In my quest for scrapbooking fame & fortune I have been working on submitting Lo's for various publications. OK, so I realize no fame & fortune but, it has been a dream of mine to see my work published & so far I have only submitted to CK (I am working on submitting more). In the past my hubby wasn't completely on board with the idea so I respected his wishes & refrained, but now...he has been the one that has stated that he would like to see me get published. I was shocked when he first vocalized the idea. I was also thrilled! So it seems this week I will be working on LO's for an upcoming call that is due June 1st. I will keep you posted & hopefully I will manage to get at least a couple submitted. (I have one sitting on my desk awaiting the finishing touches.) The calls have not yet gone out for my last round of submissions so time will only tell with those! I am excited to be taking this step & the journey ahead will be a creative one!

12 weeks of photos & 2 peas

Taking a 12 week photography course through 2 peas. My first assignment was on aperture setting. Here is my homework: (all of these are SOOC or Straight Out of the Camera)

F/5.6

F/8
F/10F/22

I am going to have to play around with this much more but I am glad that I am getting the idea & more familiar w/ my camera! (Canon EOS Rebel Xsi)
I think that I am partial to F/8 & F/10.

One month till VBS

So...somehow I was roped into running VBS this year. This is the first year I have ever directed anything of this magnitude. We are doing Saddle Ridge Ranch & I am having a blast with the decorations & promotion ideas. My Cricut has been a true blessing & I imagine that it will be smoking after the month is through! Today I am gonna head on over to the church to put up the banner & do a bulliten board. I am tackling the bulletin board like a LO...I have sketched it out & I am hoping that it translates well. I will post pics as soon as it is done!

Day two of my blogging adventure & I wanted to add a couple LO's that I have completed. One was a favorite of mine & the other is a new one.
The first one was inspired by the Adam Sandler skit from SNL.
"I'm crazy slinky beard, I got a beard that's a slinky & I'm crazy...now give me some candy" well, that's kind of how the skit went. Hopefully some of you recall...anyway, here it is!

LO 2 is is a double pg. LO that I just recently made. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey & the flowers are from Oriental Trading Co., I found the ribbon & loved the deep chocolate color so I had to add it as well.

I have been working on a method for taking pics of my LOs. So far I am still searching for my favorite method but hopefully soon I will stumble across a technique that works well!

Wow! I'm a blogger!

Where to begin? Well, I apologize before hand, I really don't know what I am doing! I am looking to this as a learning experience. A chance to stretch & grow creatively, and possibly, along the way...I will learn to spell! I hope to use this little corner in the cyber world as a place to share my scrappy creations as well as some mediocre photography. Thanks in advance for those of you that took the time to glance around. I supose that there will be a learning curve & hopefully I will catch on quick. Till then...bear with me!
