Two More

When I scrapbook, I basically just scrap the pictures that move me.  I don't follow any sort of order. As a matter of fact the following pictures in this layout are from winter 2011.  I love these pictures, they showcase the fun that my dd has with her cousins.  We are so blessed that they all get along so well! I love capturing a true sense of their relationship, the memories and feelings.
For the Three Amigos layout I used scraps from another project plus a little washi tape to pull it all together.  The letter stickers are Sassafrass and I am unsure of the chipboard. I love using odds and ends to put a layout together! So satisfying!

Now , this layout is from December 25, 2012.  I used Joyful Christmas from Recollections.  Love this paper...so pretty and just a little bit of glitter!

Here is a close up.  Added a couple buttons and tag from MM.  I may be old school but I still love my stash.  One of the good things about buying what you love and not just what's hot is that you will probably still love it years down the line! Nope, I am not a trendsetter.  Heck call me Suzy Scrapbooker, that's alright with me.I don't need to have the latest and greatest, I just need to create and have fun doing it.
Have a Happy Easter!

Create vs. Collect

I have really been on a roll lately.  I love it when Mr. Mojo is visiting!
Made this layout with Everyday Moments by Recollections.  Really like the soft palette of this pad To add a little extra interest I also added some flowers by Recollections, brads are Teresa Collins, key is Tim Holtz and the cork is Little Yellow Bicycle.  I know I have been using a lot of the same products lately but I am thrilled that I am seeing an actual impact in my stash.  I would much rather be a creator than a collector! LOL I love looking at all my goodies but they look so much better put together on a page.

I am a relatively simple scrapper but I do enjoy a little bit of layering. Here is a close up, I love those brads! A brad is such a simple way to add a little impact and visual interest.
For the Route 66 layout I used Awesome Boy by Recollections added a little washi tape and a brad and I was good to go.  Sometimes simple has the biggest impact!

still loving my paper stacks!

Yep, still plowing through my most recent purchases and still loving those paper pads.  Used Awesome Boy  by Recollections for the two layouts today. Love how versatile it is!!
The other day I discovered a new LSS and I am thrilled to report that it is awesome! I picked up several packs of brads to go with my paper pads. Many of them are actually the same design which makes me wonder...how can LSS compete with big box stores that are offering such a huge discount? To support my LSS I just had to make sure that I bought several embelishments to go with what I already had at home.  Here is a close up of some my fun new brads from Teresa Collins.
Another thing that I am loving is the cork from Little Yellow Bicycle!
Have a great week!

Happy Spring!

Still working with my new stacks and probably  will be for awhile! LOL  That is one of the problems with having a Micheal's right next door to your work. I can "pop" over there almost everyday.  I often visit a stack several times before I decide to purchase it.  I have soooo much patterned paper that I try to be more mindful before I bring any new product home.  Sometimes though, a stack just calls to me and I simply can't pass it up.  This is the case with the Heidi Swapp stack Suagr Chic.  This one was an impulse buy.  I saw it and I just had to have it. I logically deduced that my daughter would love it as well therefor it was a "must have".  (It really doesn't take too terribly much to talk me into  buying new scrap stuff)
"The Best Kind of BeautifulI used Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic, cork from  Little Yellow Bicycle, flower Recollections, sticker banner Sassafras and letter stickers are American Crafts.  I love the colors in this layout. I will be using this stack a lot! Love it!

The second layout, "Mother" was made with Everyday Moments by Recollections. The number  stickers are Sassafras, the flowers Prima, brads are MM and the other stickers are Colorbok.   My mom is one of my favorite people and I just wanted to create a layout to capture that.
I tend to focus on the kids more often than  the adults and I am trying to change that.  Part of the problem is that I just have so many pictures of the kids.  I really need to try and take more well rounded photos! LOL
Have a lovely day.

Addicted to Stacks

Despite the fact that I have enough scrapbook supplies to fill a scrapbook room, I still can't resist the allure of the patterned paper stack.  They are just such a great deal and I am loving the new lines. In the last week  I have purchased 5 paper packs from Micheals!  I have a sickness I tell ya.  I was so inspired by the new papers that I created a few new layouts today.
The above layout is from the Today-Tomorrow-Forever paper pad from Recollections.  I added a few other products here and there but the layout came together pretty easily.  I love the wood grain look on this paper, it's part of the reason that I gravitated towards this pad.
To add  a 3D element and a little extra interest I added a few Grungeboard stars, the flower  is Prima, the brads are MM and the cork board is Yellow Bicycle.

2 generations was made using Awesome Boy by Recollections.  This layout came together very quickly.  The alphabet letters are Thickers by American Crafts and the cork is Yellow Bicycle.  I have a couple more layouts to add  tomorrow and maybe one of these days I will make a sizable dent in my rather large stack of paper pads!

My mud Room is coming along!

One of the things that we really love about our house is a rather large mud/laundry room. Up until recently however it was not my favorite place to spend time.  The walls were red and brown and quite dingy.  Thankfully my dad stepped in and built me this unit. I am over the moon with how it turned out.  We also painted the walls (as you can see, we are still in the process of painting the trim as evident by the painters tape) Thankfully I had most everything at home already so I only had to go out and purchase 3 baskets!
The three baskets that I had to buy.  They say "baby things" on the side facing into the cabinet. LOL It was tricky to find the right size.  I found them at Micheals for 50%.
The picnic baskets I already had and I was thrilled that they fit so nicely. The remaining hooks are were the kids backpacks go and so far they have been excellent about hanging them there when they get home from school.

All in all, this house is a process...much like everything else in my life!
