plans foiled

Well, not really. I had planned on organizing my paper stash but I made a LO instead. I had fun playing around with textures. I was inspired by the latest CK Tips & Tricks mag. The pp is Fancy Pants, I love this Christmas line "Christmas Magic". I also added stickers from Stampin up & chipboard ornaments from Basic Grey. I made the card on Shutterfly (basically it's our Christmas card) The plan today is to tackle at least some of my patterned paper. I have some attachment issues when it comes to parting with my paper though, so I will have to be strong. I am also gearing up for my Valentines Blog Hop. I have been making little valentines to start rolling out this week & I am trying to figure out a great giveaway for the hop.

almost done

Even though I have a tiny space, it has the feel of a bigger space because it looks out into the family room. I can watch TV & keep an eye on the kids while I am scrapping.
Here's an angle to give you a feel of how narrow it is. Things can get cluttered pretty fast. Yesterday, I went through my drawers. They house embellishments & scraps of paper by theme. I have general themes like: Girl, boy, baby, ocean, Summer, Spring, Fall etc. I have found that that's what works best for me. When I am working on a project I pull out the entire drawer, that way I can go through everything easily.
Today I hope to go through my patterned paper, my least favorite task of all. This project may take all weekend!

more organizing

Here is my inspiration board . Not much on it yet, I just recently put it up. In the basket I have some of my Cuttlebug Dies.
I re purposed this mug rack for my scrappy supplies. It's very handy having stuff right there.

Here's the shelf over my scrap table. I love having everything within reach. From these pics you might be able to get a feel for how small my area is. I have really tried to maximize my little space. I have stuff everywhere! I will try to get more close ups & post them tomorrow. I still have soooo much to go through, it's just plain crazy!
On another note I have also been preparing for a Valentine Blog Hop. I have never done a Blog Hop so I am hoping that I can figure it out!

Let's get organized

I am starting to get things organized. I am going to make an effort to post my progress. I have such a tiny scrap space that it is kind of difficult to get a half way decent photograph. I figured I would post a few photos everyday. My little creative space is a work in progress. I am constantly shifting things around. I have my glitter, stickles & some of my "go to" inks on this shelf. In the metal hanging baskets I have my Page Maps sketches, journaling tags & other misc. items

My Cricut shelf. I had been keeping it on my scrap table but it got to crowded.
My flower shelf. This shelf was an old spice rack that I repurposed. I really do love it. I am a very visual person & it is very helpful to have everything out where I can see it. Since I have such an odd shaped space I have had to store many of my supplies on the wall. I love having it all around me so I can see what I have on hand.

old is new again

I finished this LO last night & I was able to use some odds and ends that I have had forever. I find it so satisfying when I am able to use some items from my stash that I have had for awhile! I have had those flowers forever (I ordered them off of QVC several years ago), the metal tag is K& Co (old), the Patterned paper is from Autumn Leaves & it is also several years old. I was also able to include some new tags that I got from my gfs. Love it when old & new come together! Yay! On a whole other note...how sad is it that I kind of want to see the Justin Bieber movie?

Halloween LO

Still trying to get the hang of this scanning thing! I am thinking that once the weather permits I may go back to taking pics of my Los. For this LO I used a sketch from Page maps 2. I love to use sketches I actually feel like they are kind of freeing. They give me a great design & then I get to do all the fun stuff like add the embellishments. Sometimes when I am creating a LO I hit a road block but, when I use a sketch the road block just disappears freeing my mind to work on all of the other creative elements of the LO. Fia's school has such a cool Halloween tradition. They have a Costume parade that starts with Kindergarten & continues through the rest of the school. I love seeing all of the costumes! This year my folks tagged along with Evan , I think that they had as much fun as the kids did!

placed an order

I ordered my Disney prints yesterday. I was able to narrow it down to 202 prints. I went through them several times. I was strict with myself & only ordered ones that I knew I would be scrapbooking. I have been ordering from MPix but I had a 20% off & free shipping from shutterfly so I am crossing my fingers that they turn out alright. I may still send off a few of my faves to MPix but for the lion's share I hope that Shutterfly will do alright. I was pleased with my Christmas cards through Shutterfly so we shall see.

Finally a couple LOs to share. I am still trying to master the art of the scan. I keep getting a line, there has got to be a trick that I am missing! Over on the Creating Keepsakes Message Board they have been exploring the different scrapping styles. I have to admit that this is something that I have wondered myself. I am sure that some people will consider my style simple but I also have a mix of many other things in there. I was trying to nail it down but then I figured.... "why?" I decided that I am just going to go with what ever moves me & just create! WHO says I need to name it?

More Pics from Disney

Love Disneyland at Christmas, even though I barely got any pics of the decorations. The first 2 days that we were at Disneyland it rained so I didn't get very many pictures that day. By the third day of our visit many of the decorations were taken down. The castle at night....so pretty!

Disneyland California Adventure will be undergoing so many drastic changes! We were there amidst most of it. I can't wait to see what it will looks like in 2013. Big Thunder Mountain, one of our favorite rides! I took this shot using my 85 mm from across the Rivers of America.

the King Arthur's Carousel at night.

The Columbia. Amazingly I have never set foot on it! It was fun watching it sail by during Fantasmic though!

Sights from Disney

Ok, so one of my dream days would be spent at Disneyland just me and my camera. I would capture all of the amazing details that are Disney. With our most recent trip being 5 days long you would think that I would have been able to tear off a little portion of time to do just that but, unfortunately that was not the case. With 8 kids, all adults have to be on high alert at all times! I did manage to get a few good shots though. One of our favorite rides! The Hollywood Tower of Terror. One of the cast members gave us a special fast pass so we were able to race to the front of the line...so cool!

This is a picture of a picture...cheesy I know. But I love this shot of Walt. I can only imagine the peacefulness of the park before it opens. Walt making his morning rounds.

In DCA, I just love this sign & the clever wording.

The Indian village off of Tom Sawyer's island. The Mark Twain. I have more Disney detail pics that I will share tomorrow!

More Disneyland pics

The force is strong in this one. Sophia learning how to be a Jedi knight.
Ashton showing off his pins. The kids loved trading their pins. Evan's gaol: to get all of the villains. He was successful in collecting quite a few: Chernebog, Jafar, Ursula, Scar, the Queen of Hearts & Chick Hicks from cars.

One morning we headed over before the rest of the group & practically ran through fantasyland! The longest line was for Peter Pan.

Sweet Bethany. She dressed as a princess almost everyday. She was Snow White for the first day.
Some of the decorations in New Orleans...so beautiful.
I truly can't wait to get these pictures back so I can scrapbook them!

The whole group in front of the Tower of Terror.
Well, almost everybody except Ian, he wandered off right before the picture was taken.
The last picture of the California letters. they were taken down shortly after.

Sweet Preston, the youngest of our entourage.

Disney adventure

Five days at Disneyland, 8 kids & 8 adults: truly my idea of perfection! Honestly I could stay there forever. I got some great shots and I can't wait to get them printed! My mom & Sophia on the carousel.
Love this one of my brother with Logan & Evan. Too sweet!

Aubrey, Sophia & Mickey.

Evan with Pluto.

Love this shot of the castle. I tried to get the full reflection but this was the best that I could get. Love the way it turned out though!
