Merry Christmas

It's Christmas eve and I am sitting on the couch sipping coffee and gearing up for a day of retail. I am actually kind of looking forward to it....might as well enjoy it right? Sometimes it's nice to know that you helped ease someone's shopping experience.  Most people that are shopping on Christmas eve are kinda stressed, I try to be as pleasant as possible.
This layout is still in progress but  i hadn't shared in a while. Love this paper it is so much
fun! Thanks for stopping by and have a very merry Christmas

December 1st

Finished up most of the Christmas decorations today. I always love how the house looks when it is all sparkly with white lights.
Every year I add something new. This year I added more white lights. Everything is so pretty with the soft white glow!  Now if I can just get my husband to put lights on the outside. Have  a wonderful week and keep creating!

lovely layers

I love layers. I don't generally go to crazy with the layers but I do really like the look. I created this look quickly I am pleased with the way it turned out.  I have so much patterned paper that I feel that I really need to use. Despite the fact that I purge on a regular basis....I still have too much. I admit that it is hard for me to part with some  of it, I have attachment issues:).  Creating layouts with layers is a great way to use that paper!
This paper is from Recollections and the brads are MME.  Thanks for stopping by and have fun creating!

two more for the road

A couple more layouts. My goal is to post every day. This will be for tomorrow.  Had fun with the title on this one. I think I may be getting the hang of this. Most of the papers on this layout are Heidi swapp. I also added a few brads (you know how I love brads).  Finally, I fussy cut some of the patterned paper. Always an inexpensive way to add a little fun!

More Heidi swapp and whatever else I had laying around! To add a little extra touch I faux stitched around the edges. You will also notice I used a few different styles of paper tape and as always, brads. (somehow i switched the layouts. This mobile stuff takes a little getting used to.)
Thanks for stopping by & have fun creating!

first ever mobile post

Alright.  My first-ever post from my phone. I am hoping that this will help me be a little better about posting. love this layout of Evan from our camping trip. working on my titles and trying to make them a little better. For some reason I struggle with titles.  I have so many different alphabet stickers...it is nice to be able to use them :)
have a great day and keep creating!

November already?

Well hello there. I have to admit that I have been lazy lately and posting most of my layouts to instagram via my phone. I have been neglecting this blog but I hope to change that soon. Working on Christmas cards and I think that we found a keeper. Just wanted to stop in and say hi and hopefully I will get much better at the blog thing! LOL
Hope to post a longer entry tomorrow. Till then, keep creating!

Back to the old routine!

Well, one more day till school starts and we have to get back into the habits  of the old routine. The summer months always throw things off just a little. My days off are spent traveling to catch up with family members and squeeze in as much summer fun as possible! With all of the action going on it leaves little room for my blog. I have still been scrapbooking here and there though so I have a few layouts to share with you this morning.
I was to the point that I had scrapbooked many of my more recent photos so I have been going old school. I have been enjoying the process of digging back into the archives and taking a trip down memory lane.
Created a fun little cluster of embellishments. Always a great way to utilize my stash! I have products from Heidi Swapp, Recollections, MME etc.
Here's a simple and sweet layout. Both of these boys are 8 years old now! Used some of the stickers from a giant sticker kit that I purchased on HSN several months back. I have really enjoyed the product, so thankful that I bought it. I also added a couple Basic Grey brads and several epoxy dots. Love those things for adding a little extra oomph to a layout!
Most of the product on this layout is MME. I bought it right after this trip (about 7 years ago)! I also mixed in some newer MME product.
The stickers are MRS Grossman  (yep, remember those) plus I added the epoxy heart to add some depth.
Now these are more recent photos. Taken from our camping trip last weekend. That's one of the nice thing about summer...ample opportunity to take new photos! I hadn't developed pictures in a while so I have several hundred photos to keep my scrapping all winter long!
Used odds and ends in an attempt to conquer my stash. The only problem is that even though I am using my stash I just keep buying more! I think that I foresee a freeze in my future! LOL
Another close up.
Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to the coming months and getting back into the swing of things. Enjoy the process and happy scrapping!

A comfort zone

Many scrapbookers have a scrapping comfort zone. A fail proof formula that is tried and true. Over the years I have developed a style that I am comfortable with. A personal style that screams "Andi". I think that finding a personal scrapbooking comfort zone is essential. Must you remain in that comfort zone...of course not. But having a personal style or scrapbook zone that you are content with truly aids in the speed of your scrapbooking.  I generally tweak things here and there trying out new techniques every once in awhile, but for the most part I do what I like and I know. For example: I am a 4 x 6 scrapper. I rarely print different sized photos. Mostly because that is easiest for me and time is of the essence when it comes to my scrapbooking. I don't want to spend to much time negotiating print size and forecasting what sizes I am going to use. I do not plan my layouts that far in advance.
The Whole Gang
I still really love washi tape. many may feel that it is passe but thankfully, I don't subscribe to that nonsense. I scrap what I love and with what moves and inspires me. Does that mean that I am going to be using items from my stash from several years ago? Yep, it sure does! The above layout was made with several scraps from my scrap drawer, The stickers are from HSN, the brads are MME and the puffy stickers are Me & My Big Ideas ( I found them on clearance at Micheal's).

Here is a close up. I doodled a little on the sticker banner as well as the title sticker.
Bethany
For this layout I dug way back and went through some of my really old paper. Not that anyone can tell...that is the beauty of a classic paper, it doesn't go out of style. I only buy products that I love. Products that I love are going to stand the test of time rather than the items are the hottest fads.

Close up: the letter stickers are MM, the brads & epoxy dots are MME.

Today Was A Good Day

The paper for this layout is Fancy Pants, the card stock Bazzill, the brads are Jillibean & MME, the epoxy shapes are MME, the chipboard is Heidi Swapp, puffy sticker is MAMBI and the other stickers are HSN.

Trust you inner artist. While I do not love every single layout that I complete, I really do like almost every single one. I think that is very important to garner satisfaction with each and every completed layout. Do I create layouts to get published...nope. I scrapbook for me first and my family runs a close second.

Thanks for stopping by and have fun creating!

Banner Love

I love creating banners and things for my home out of paper. I created this banner around Easter and I am so happy with the way it turned out.  I love the look of a simple banner and this was a great way to showcase several photos that were not going to be in my scrapbook.

The nice thing about banners is that they are easy to change from season to season and they can cover any theme. They are easy to store and they are a great way to utilize paper scraps as well as that stash of embellishments that I have acquired over the years.
Here is a close up: I stayed with the same color palette and added pops of color here and there.
The kraft paper helped tie everything together and I was very liberal with the flowers and brads.
I have many other home paper projects that I have been wanting to try and I am hoping that with the summer months approaching  I will be able to create a few more.
Thanks for stopping by and have fun creating!

Blast From the Past

Since I rarely scrapbook about me I decided that I would dig into the archives and finally scrap some of my school pictures. This one is from my Junior year...yep, a few years ago! I used Recollections paper plus a few stickers from my HSN sticker pack, the brad is MME and the clip, flower and bird cage are from Michael's dollar spot. I should also add that the washi  tape is Teresa Collins.
Life Documented

A close up of all of the goodies. I stamped the A using my foam stamps from MME and a touch of brown paint. I also inked the edges.
Another angle to show you the dimension. The birdcage has a very thin profile which I love. I hate to use items that are to bulky on layouts that are going into an album.
Happy
This pic is from a few years back as well. My sister was my only bridesmaid and we had a ball! Loved that I was able to share my day with her. The paper is Hiedi Swapp, the sparkly floral sticker is colorbok, flower is Prima, the brads are MME and the jewels, pearls, metal tag and key are from Michael's. I should also mention the epoxy hearts that are MME and the lovely dotted paper that I picked up for free. Love it when I get freebies at work! It is hard to tell from this picture but the paper has a delightful silver dot.

I used a white chalk pen from American Crafts to fill in the title.
Have a wonderful weekend and have fun creating.

Rethinking Bo Bunny

Good morning. We all have our favorite manufacturers, our tried and true retailers that never let us down. Mine is generally MME but I found this Bo Bunny in a sale bin at my favorite LSS and I had to snatch it up. Generally Bo Bunny is not my taste, it can be to bubble gum bright for me and a little to cutesy. In all fairness though I haven't seen all of their lines so I am sure that there are several exceptions to that statement. True, the following line is bright and whimsical but I found it refreshing. Yes, I am a fickle consumer!
I was able to pick up several sheets of double sided pp and a sticker sheet. I was so inspired by my new purchase that I completed three layouts! I posted two of them but at the request of Fia I refrained from posting the third, it's of her school picture...which she hates. The girl is so photogenic I don't know how she manages to take such crummy school pictures! LOL
Here is a close up. I used a white rub on from MM and then colored it in with markers. The teal is a chalk marker which I love! Isn't the color beautiful? The flower & brads are Recollections, everything else is Bo Bunny.( Excluding the Kraft paper. )
More Bo Bunny and the cardstock is Bazzill. Nothing fancy, I added jewels to the flowers up top and the flower with the tag.
Close up of the flower with a little doodling. Guess I am going to have to rethink my opinion about Bo Bunny! There are so many exciting scrapbook products out there I will have to keep my options open and not limit myself.
Thanks for stopping by and keep creating!

Just a few More

Just wanted to add a few layouts  before I went  to bed tonight. Still working on my "found Photos".
These photos are from several years ago. I went very girly with this layout. The paper is from DCWV vintage, the stickers are from HSN, the chipboard shapes are Heidi Swapp and the other shapes are Crate Paper ( I think).
A close up the sticker border from HSN. I know that the last thing I needed was more stickers, but I couldn't resist! I mean, over 2000 awesome stickers. I love them all!
The white sticker letters are American Crafts and the green are Sassafrass. I love the slight sparkle on the patterned paper.
More Pink Paislee. Wow, I love this paper pad.  I waffled with this pad at first when I saw it at Micheal's but I finally caved after going back to it repeatedly. So glad that I did because I have already made several layouts with it! I  The chipboard shapes and letters are Crate Paper and the epoxy dots are Recollections.
Sorry, a  little out of focus.
My last layout of the day is more recent. Evan loves playing ball. We go out and play in the front yard every chance we get. He actually has a great arm and he is an amazing little athlete. He has his dad's ability rather than mine, thankfully! I used Recollections Awesome Boy plus a little washi tape.
Thanks for stopping by and have fun creating!

Still working on my lost treasures. So glad that I discovered these pictures. Whenever I organize my scrapbook room I always discover little goodies. I was able to incorporate several little treasures on the following layout. Many of the items are older but they still blend nicely with the new.  I truly love incorporating older product with newer items. I have amassed such a collection over the years and it feels amazing to start making a dent! Of course, I still have a long way to go...don't we all?!
The patterned paper is MME. I am pretty sure that it had surfer in the title but I don't recall. I inked the edges with an aqua stamp. I was going for an overall beachy vibe, adding shells here and there, staying consistent with my color palette.  The green enamel frame is Making Memories and the pattern hinted at a coastal feel, so I ran with it.

Here is a close up of the tag. I added a few fun embellishments that I have had forever. So liberating to  use stuff from my stash that I have been holding on to for years! I found myself asking "What am I waiting for?"
For this layout I wanted to capture all of the cousins and just focus on the love, fun and joy that they have for each other.  Summers are always fun, but when you add the fact that the cousins  get together: the fun factor is multiplied ten fold! I used "Hey Kid" from Pink Paislee, the metal tag up at the top right is from Micheal's, the stickers are from HSN , the brads are MME & the cb sticker is Hiedi Swapp.
Our sweet girls. This picture was taken several years ago. Used Hiedi Swapp plus a few other things that I discovered in my stash. The dots are Recollections, journaling tag is DCWV & the brads are Prima.
A close up. I really do love those dots. So versatile and they always add a little pop. I have had these flowers forever and have long forgotten the manufacturer.

I have no idea who made this fabric patch,  maybe Autumn Leaves.
Thanks for stopping by and have fun creating!

Wow, it has been a while. My computer has been on the fritz for a about a month and I just finally got it back. I have had so many blog posts rolling around in my head! I was able to keep my scrapbooking up though and I gathered quite a little pile that I will be posting over the next few weeks.
While organizing my scrapbook room I found several pictures set aside to scrapbook from many years ago. It was like Christmas morning I tell ya! I found many pictures from our Disney World trip several years ago. We took that trip before I bought my nice camera and my first digital camera actually died the second day of the trip. Needless to say I don't have that many pictures from that vacation. Thankfully, we did get a photo pass so I was able to get several wonderful character pics. I really can't wait to go back...so many pictures that I want to take!  The above layout was very straight forward: paper, pop dots and a little ink. The paper is "Hey Kid" by Pink Paislee.
For some reason all of today's layouts are of my sweet boy. This one is from a trip to the beach. The paper is Recollections, the epoxy dots are also Recollections, the stickers are from HSN plus I added a little grungeboard for good measure.
Here are some more pictures from our trip to Disney World. I used "Hey Kid" Pink Paislee, epoxy dots are Recollections, letter stickers are Sassafrass and the brads are MME.

I really love that paper from Pink Paislee, love the energy and vibrant color. Thanks for stopping by! Have fun creating!
